FAIR TRADE
In this shop you can purchase some fair-traded products, that I collected on my travels. Fair Trade is a good way to help needy people to organise their lives by themselves and not to be dependent from other organisations. Fair Trade gives them an opportunity to preserve their culture, get a fair-paid job and lay the basis for further self-support.
The organisations, that I have chosen for a collaboration are worth to be supported. I have visited their places and got a good insight to their working-procedure. All products, that can be bought in this Fair Trade shop are already paid with fair prices. The products are sold for a higher price here to make some income for further orders. By this the Fair Trade can grow. I myself do not make an earning from the trades here, all income is used to support the projects with new orders and to enable other projects to join. All income is going with 100% to the projects or organisations, bank fees, cargo costs and these things are overtaken by myself.
In the future I hope to extend my programme and to find more projects, that can be supported through this way. I also try to extend the Fair Trade, so that it can run self-supportive.
NEPAL
Children Nepal
Here are some products, that are handmade in Nepal by women of the organisation Children Nepal in Pokhara.
Children Nepal runs a small pre-school to enable children of the untouchable's caste to get a school education. Many kids in Nepal do never attend school, because they have to work or their parents are too poor to pay the school-fees. The organisation is giving the kids a basic training, overtakes school fees and even makes it possible for some of them to study. The parents of the children receive a good income from making these children-toys and the earnings of the products is used to support their children to go to school.
All products are enviromentally friendly and are also tested for their children-friendly colouring, which contain no poison.
Children Nepal is a member of the Fair Trade Group Nepal and the International Fair Trade Association (IFAT).
I have visited the project personally several times and have taken photos of the children. For their invaluable help I have started my collaboration with them to sell their products.
